Steve bought Ruby a special shirt to wear for Mothers Day and I got cards from Ruby, Steve and my in-laws. We also went out for a really good sushi lunch (oh I loves me some gooood sushi). Then we spent the afternoon at my parents house while my mom fussed over Ruby. Steve and my Dad cooked a roast on the BBQ. I sipped a couple of light coolers outside in the sunshine. My brother stopped by for a visit with his fiance and kids. The kids picked me a couple of dandelions for Mother's Day, which I proudly wore behind my ear.
Pretty good day.
No breakfast in bed, no spa day, no big bouquet of flowers, no extra pampering... but do those things really matter? (Yes, they would have been a nice touch but...) In the end I have all that really matters:
PS: The other bonus is that this sets the bar for a fairly easy Father's Day...

she is sooooo cute! glad you had a good day.
Okay, I love Ruby more and more every day...she is SOOOO cute! She has the big "I'm so sweet and innocent" eyes down pat. You two look so beautiful together!!
So glad you were able to have a nice M-Day. :)
Ok, Tara - I'm not sure I've ever said this to you before, but you are an absolute fucking stunner! You and Ruby should embark on a modeling career - seriously!
I'm glad you got to enjoy the day even though it wasn't all you might have wished for.
And your comment about Father's Day totally cracked me up. A card and a couple cans of beer should cover it, right?
Awwwww she looks SO cute in that outfit!
You both look gorgeous and I'm glad an effort was made! xoxo
Steve sounds a bit like my husband...who offered to get me a new vacuum for Mother's day, but has not yet delivered. Don't get me wrong, I want a new vacuum, but it's just not a great Mother's Day present.
Your Ruby is beautiful! And that is the best Mother's Day present a girl could ever want.
Take yourself off to the spa next weekend...
I wasn't pampered either, but it was a very nice day. I, too, just feel grateful that I have a reason to be recognized on the day.
