My Vampire

Ruby bites. Hard. It hurts. She's left welts on me. I can't make her stop. She laughs at me when I cry out in pain. She laughs when I get mad at her. She laughs when I firmly grab her and tell her "NO". She laughs when I squeeze her cheeks and tell her to "STOP".

I have learned that she does it most when she is tired - whatever good that does me.

Suggestions?

No advice b/c I have similar vampire marks on my arm. Same response at all attempts at disciple. Sigh.

Just keep up with the noes, and maybe even put her down if she keeps it up. As in, Mommy won't play if you bite.

Teething is brutal....hate that part of childhood.

I know she is younger than M, but he has bitten me twice and I pretend to cry and that seems to have stopped it. I had to make a REALLY BIG deal out of it, but he got the point!

choose a place, a mat, a chair or a stair. Tell her its the thinking place. When she does a behaviour that is not acceptable like biting..take her to the thinking place and she needs to sit silently ( you silent - she will probably make a fuss, just ignore) with you while she thinks why it wasnt nice. Dont communicate, smile etc just be there and be silent and calm. After a set time depending on age..but only a couple of minutes - tell her she came to the thinking place because she bit and she can leave when she gives you a hug and says she is sorry. than its over. For minor behaviour warn first. Say...if you don't stop shouting you will go to the thinking place...and if it doesnt stop , follow through. Ignore any tantrums there.
